About Me

I am a native of Southern California and I have been playing piano for 15 years. I perform with professional jazz ensembles, and other music ensembles, open mic nights, concerts, recitals and a variety of musical events. I have been the pianist/keyboardist in the Pop Musical Ensemble at MiraCosta. I began my musical journey learning classical music and then branched off into popular/contemporary music. Sight-reading is one of my fortes as well as reading chord progressions for pop/contemporary music and some jazz. I spent a lot of time with music theory and it is something I find very important in playing high/professional level music. I also feel that music theory and the ability to read music is a significant part of a solid music foundation especially for arranging and producing.

I have an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts and Humanities, music is a passion of mine and I play other instruments including the violin, a bit of ukulele and I have even played a few percussion instruments in my career as well. I played the violin since middle school where I played in the school orchestra and then I continued in the MiraCosta Community College Symphony Orchestra. Along with playing musical instruments I have also completed a number of vocal classes and participated in choir during high school. I also had the privilege in singing and attaining a speaking role in a Nat King Cole Musical with Broadway actor James Rich in the Musical Theatre Ensemble at MiraCosta. I enjoy playing and performing music solo and with other people, I am currently collaborating and producing musical ensembles for entertainment and performance.
